Fwd: I love the P.S.

To my darling husband,

Before you return from your business trip I just want to let you know about the

Small accident I had with the pick up truck when I turned into the driveway.

Fortunately it's not too bad and I really didn't get hurt, so please don't worry too

Much about me. I was coming home from Wal-Mart, and when I turned into the driveway I

Accidentally pushed down on the accelerator instead of the brake.

The garage door is slightly bent but the pick up fortunately came to a halt when

It bumped into your car.

I am really sorry, but I know with your kind-hearted personality you will

Forgive me. You know how much I love you and care for you my sweetheart.

I am enclosing a picture for you.

I cannot wait to hold you in my arms again.

Your loving wife.

P.S. Your girlfriend called.

If it changes your life, let it.
Kiss slowly.
Forgive quickly.

Be Careful

This I thought was imprtant enough to send because you never know what kind of crazies are out there trying to violate others and their property.

PLEASE READ

NEW FORM OF KIDNAPPING

Please take a minute to read this. This is very scary and could happen to any of us.. Seems like every nice thing people do for one another can be perverted.

A new twist on kidnapping from a very smart survivor:

About a month ago there was a woman standing by the mall entrance passing out flyers to all the women going in. The woman had written the flyer herself to tell about an experience she had, so that she might warn other women.

The previous day, this woman had finished shopping, went out to her car and discovered that she had a flat.

She got the jack out of the trunk and began to change the flat. A nice man dressed in a business suit and carrying a briefcase walked up to her and said, 'I noticed you're changing a flat tire. Would you like me to take care of it for you?'

The woman was grateful for his offer and accepted his help. They chatted amiably while the man changed the flat, and then put the flat tire and the jack in the trunk, shut it and dusted his hands off.

The woman thanked him profusely, and as she was about to get in her car, the man told her that he left his car around on the other side of the mall, and asked if she would mind giving him a lift to his car.

She was a little surprised and she asked him why his car was on the other side...

He explained that he had seen an old friend in the mall that he hadn't seen for some time and they had a bite to eat, visited for a while, and he got turned around in the mall and left through the wrong exit, and now he was running late.

The woman hated to tell him 'no' because he had just rescued her from having to change her flat tire all by herself, but she felt un easy!(Trust that gut feeling!)

Then she remembered seeing the man put his briefcase in her trunk before shutting it and before he asked her for a ride to his car. She told him that she'd be happy to drive him around to his car, But she just remembered one last thing she needed to buy (Smart woman!!)

She said she would only be a few minutes; he could sit down in her car and wait for her; she would be as quick as she could. She hurried into the mall, and told a security guard what had happened, the guard came out to her car with her, but the man had left. They opened the trunk, took out his locked briefcase and took it down to the police station.

The police opened it (ostensibly to look for ID so they could return it to the man). What they found was rope, duct tape, and knives. When the police checked her 'flat' tire, there was nothing wrong with it; the air had simply been let out. It was obvious what the man's intention was, and obvious that he had carefully thought it out in advance. The woman was blessed to have escaped harm.

How much worse it would have been if she had children with her and had them wait in the car while the man fixed the tire, or if she had a baby strapped into a car seat? Or if she'd gone against her judgment and given him a lift?

Consider This

JUST A MOM?

A woman, renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk 's office,

was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation.

She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.

'What I mean is, ' explained the recorder,

'do you have a job or are you just a ...?'

'Of course I have a job,' snapped the woman.

'I'm a Mom.'

'We don't list 'Mom' as an occupation,

'housewife' covers it,'

Said the recorder emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself

in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall.

The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised,

efficient, and possessed of a high sounding title like,

'Official Interrogator' or 'Town Registrar.'

'What is your occupation?' she probed.

What made me say it? I do not know.

The words simply popped out.

'I'm a Research Associate in the field of

Child Development and Human Relations.'

The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair and

looked up as though she had not heard right.

I repeated the title slowly emphasizing the most significant words.

Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written,

in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.

'Might I ask,' said the clerk with new interest,

'just what you do in your field?'

Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice,

I heard myself reply,

'I have a continuing program of research,

(what mother doesn't)

In the laboratory and in the field,

(normally I would have said indoors and out).

I'm working for my Masters, (first the Lord and then the whole family)

and already have four credits (all daughters).

Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities,

(any mother care to disagree?)

and I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it).

But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers

and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money.'

There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she

completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.

As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career,

I was greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3.

Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model,

(a 6 month old baby) in the child development program,

testing out a new vocal pattern.

I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy!

And I had gone on the official records as someone more

distinguished and indispensable to mankind than 'just another Mom.'

Motherhood!

What a glorious career!

Especially when there's a title on the door.

Does this make grandmothers

'Senior Research Associates in the field of Child Development and HumanRelations'

And great grandmothers

'Executive Senior Research Associates?'

I think so!!!

I also think it makes Aunts

'Associate Research Assistants.'

Please send this to another Mom,

Grandmother,

Aunt,

And other friends you know.

May your troubles be less,

Your blessing be more,

And nothing but happiness come through your door!

AMEN

Mother Teresa

Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.
Mother Teresa

Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.
Mother Teresa

Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired.
Mother Teresa

Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.
Mother Teresa

Each one of them is Jesus in disguise.
Mother Teresa

Even the rich are hungry for love, for being cared for, for being wanted, for having someone to call their own.
Mother Teresa

Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.
Mother Teresa

God doesn't require us to succeed; he only requires that you try.
Mother Teresa

Good works are links that form a chain of love.
Mother Teresa

I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world.
Mother Teresa

I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness.
Mother Teresa

I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.
Mother Teresa

I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much.
Mother Teresa

I try to give to the poor people for love what the rich could get for money. No, I wouldn't touch a leper for a thousand pounds; yet I willingly cure him for the love of God.
Mother Teresa

I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor. Do you know your next door neighbor?
Mother Teresa

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
Mother Teresa

If we want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.
Mother Teresa

If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
Mother Teresa

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

Invisible Woman

The Invisible Woman

By Nicole Johnson

It started to happen gradually. One day I was walking my

son Jake to school. I was holding his hand and we were

about to cross the street when the crossing guard said to

him, "Who is that with you, young fella?" "Nobody," he

shrugged. "Nobody?" The crossing guard and I laughed. My

son is only 5, but as we crossed the street I thought, "Oh

my goodness, nobody?"

I would walk into a room and no one would notice. I would

say something to my family - like "Turn the TV down,

please" - and nothing would happen. Nobody would get up, or

even make a move for the remote. I would stand there for a

minute, and then I would say again, a little louder, "Would

someone turn the TV down?" Nothing.

Just the other night my husband and I were out at a party.

We'd been there for about three hours and I was ready to

leave. I noticed he was talking to a friend from work. So

I walked over, and when there was a break in the

conversation, I whispered, "I'm ready to go when you are."

He just kept right on talking.

That's when I started to put all the pieces together. I

don't think he can see me. I don't think anyone can see me.

I'm invisible.

It all began to make sense, the blank stares, the lack of

response, the way one of the kids will walk into the room

while I'm on the phone and ask to be taken to the store.

Inside I'm thinking, "Can't you see I'm on the phone?"

Obviously not! No one can see if I'm on the phone, or

cooking, or sweeping the floor, or even standing on my

head in the corner, because no one can see me at all.

I'm invisible.

Some days I am only a pair of hands, nothing more: Can you

fix this? Can you tie this? Can you open this? Some days

I'm not a pair of hands; I'm not even a human being. I'm a

clock to ask, "What time is it?" I'm a satellite guide to

answer, "What number is the Disney Channel?" I'm a car to

order, "Right around 5:30, please."

I was certain that these were the hands that once held

books and the eyes that studied history and the mind that

graduated summa cum laude -but now they had disappeared

into the peanut butter, never to be seen again.

She's going, she's going, she's gone!

One night, a group of us were having dinner, celebrating

the return of a friend from England. Janice had just gotten

back from a fabulous trip, and she was going on and on

about the hotel she stayed in. I was sitting there,

looking around at the others all put together so well. It

was hard not to compare and feel sorry for myself as I

looked down at my out-of-style dress; it was the only

thing I could find that was clean. My unwashed hair was

pulled up in a banana clip and I was afraid I could

actually smell peanut butter in it. I was feeling pretty

pathetic, when Janice turned to me with a beautifully

wrapped package, and said, "I brought you this."

It was a book on the great cathedrals of Europe. I wasn't

exactly sure why she'd given it to me until I read her

inscription: "To Charlotte, with admiration for the

greatness of what you are building when no one sees."

In the days ahead I would read - no, devour - the book. And

I would discover what would become for me, four

life-changing truths, after which I could pattern my work:

* No one can say who built the great cathedrals - we

have no record of their names.

* These builders gave their whole lives for a work they

would never see finished.

* They made great sacrifices and expected no credit.

* The passion of their building was fueled by their

faith that the eyes of God saw everything.

A legendary story in the book told of a rich man who came

to visit the cathedral while it was being built, and he

saw a workman carving a tiny bird on the inside of a beam.

He was puzzled and asked the man, "Why are you spending so

much time carving that bird into a beam that will be

covered by the roof? No one will ever see it."

And the workman replied, "Because God sees."

I closed the book, feeling the missing piece fall into

place. It was almost as if I heard God whispering to me, "I

see you, Charlotte. I see the sacrifices you make every

day, even when no one around you does. No act of kindness

you've done, no sequin you've sewn on, no cupcake you've

baked, is too small for me to notice and smile over. You

are building a great cathedral, but you can't see right

now what it will become."

At times, my invisibility feels like an affliction. But it

is not a disease that is erasing my life. It is the cure

for the disease of my own self-centeredness. It is the

antidote to my strong, stubborn pride.

I keep the right perspective when I see myself as a great

builder. As one of the people who show up at a job that

they will never see finished, to work on something that

their name will never be on. The writer of the book went

so far as to say that no cathedrals could ever be built in

our lifetime because there are so few people willing to

sacrifice to that degree.

When I really think about it, I don't want my son to tell

the friend he's bringing home from college for

Thanksgiving, "My mom gets up at 4 in the morning and bakes

homemade pies, and then she hand bastes a turkey for three

hours and presses all the linens for the table." That

would mean I'd built a shrine or a monument to myself. I

just want him to want to come home. And then, if there is

anything more to say to his friend, to add, "You're gonna

love it there."

As mothers, we are building great cathedrals. We cannot be

seen if we're doing it right. And one day, it is very

possible that the world will marvel, not only at what we

have built, but at the beauty that has been added to the

world by the sacrifices of invisible women.

The One Flaw In Women

The One Flaw In Women

By the time the Lord made woman,

He was into his sixth day of working overtime.

An angel appeared and said,

'Why are you spending so much time on this one?'

And the Lord answered, 'Have you seen my spec sheet on her?

She has to be completely washable, but not plastic,

have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable

and able to run on diet coke and leftovers,

have a lap that can hold four children at one time,

have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart

- and she will do everything

with only two hands.'

The angel was astounded at the requirements.

'Only two hands!? No way!

And that's just on the standard model?

That's too much work for one day.

Wait until tomorrow to finish.'

'But I won't, ' the Lord protested.

'I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart.

She already heals herself when she is sick

AND can work 18 hour days.'

The angel moved closer and touched the woman.

'But you have made her so soft, Lord.'

'She is soft,' the Lord agreed,

'but I have also made her tough.

You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish.'

'Will she be able to think?', asked the angel.

The Lord replied,

'Not only will she be able to think,

she will be able to reason and negotiate.'

The angel then noticed something,

and reaching out , touched the woman's cheek.

'Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.

I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one.'

'That's not a leak,'

the Lord corrected,

'that's a tear!'

'What's the tear for?' the angel asked.

The Lord said, 'The tear is her way of expressing her joy,

her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love,

her loneliness, her grief and her pride.'

The angel was impressed.

'You are a genius, Lord.

You thought of everything!

Woman is truly amazing.'

And she is!

Women have strengths that amaze men.

They bear hardships and they carry burdens,

but they hold happiness,

love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy

and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in.

They stand up to injustice.

They don't take 'no' for an answer

when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel

and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about

a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member,

y et they are strong when they think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss

can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e- mail you

to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning

They bring joy, hope and love.

They have compassion and ideals.

They give moral support to their family and friends.

Women have vital things to say and everything to give

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE TINY FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

PLEASE pass this along to your women friends and relatives

to remind them just how amazing they are.
