- Subject: Favorite animal
- A little humor is good for the Soul
- Our teacher asked us what our favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken."
- She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, everyone else in the class laughed.
- My parents told me to always be truthful and honest, and I am. Fried chicken is my favorite animal. I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA. He said they love animals very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef.
- Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office. I told him what happened, and he laughed too. Then he told me not to do it again.
- The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was. I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, just like she'd asked the other children. So I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken. She sent me back to the principal's office again. He laughed, and told me not to do it again.
- I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am. Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person we admire most.
- I told her, "Colonel Sanders".
- Guess where I am now...

Tech Support
Don't feel stupid about using your computer - read on. This is an
excerpt from a Wall Street Journal article:
1. Compaq is considering changing the command "Press Any Key" to
"Press Return Key" because of the
flood of calls asking where the "Any Key" is.
2. AST technical support had a caller complaining that her mouse was
hard to control with the dust cover on.
The cover turned out to be the plastic bag the mouse was packaged in.
3. Another AST customer was asked to send a copy of her defective
diskettes. A few days later a letter
arrived from the customer along with photocopies of the floppies.
4. Another Dell customer called to say he couldn't get his computer to
fax anything. After 40 minutes of
troubleshooting, the technician discovered the man was trying to fax a
piece of paper by holding it in front of
the monitor screen and hitting the "send" key.
5. A Dell technician received a call from a customer who was enraged
because his computer had told him he
was "bad and an invalid." The tech explained that the computer's "bad
command" and "invalid" responses
shouldn't be taken personally.
6. A confused caller to IBM was having troubles printing documents. He
told the technician that the computer
had said "couldn't find printer." The user had also tried turning the
computer screen to face the printer but that
his computer still couldn't "see" the printer.
7. An exasperated caller to Dell Computer Tech Support couldn't get
her new Dell Computer to turn on.
After ensuring that the computer was plugged in, the technician asked
her what happened when she pushed
the power button. Her response, "I pushed and pushed on this foot pedal
and nothing happens." The "foot
pedal"
turned out to be the mouse.
8. Another customer called Compaq tech support to say her brand-new
computer wouldn't work. She said
she unpacked the unit, plugged it in and sat there for 20 minutes
waiting for something to happen. When asked
what happened when she pressed the power switch, she asked "What power
switch?"
9. Another IBM customer had troubles installing software and rang for
support. "I put in the first disk, and
that was OK. It said to put in the second disk, and I had some problems
with the disk. When it said to put in
the third disk, I couldn't even fit it in...." The user hadn't realized
that "Insert Disk 2" meant to remove Disk 1
first.
10. In a similar incident, a customer had followed the instructions for
installing software. The instructions said
to remove the disk from its cover and insert into the drive. The user
had physically removed the casing of the
disk and wondered why there were problems.
11. True story from a Novell NetWare Sysop: Caller: "Hello, is this Tech
Support?"
Tech: "Yes, it is. How may I help you?"
Caller: "The cup holder on my PC is broken and I am within my warranty
period. How do I go about getting
that fixed?"
Tech: "I'm sorry, but did you say a cup holder?"
Caller: "Yes, it's attached to the front of my computer."
Tech: "Please excuse me. If I seem a bit stumped, it's because I am.
Did you receive this as part of a
promotional at a trade show? How did you get this cup holder? Does it
have any trademark on it?"
Caller: It came with my computer. I don't know anything about a
promotion. It just has '4X' on it."
At this point, the Tech Rep had to mute the caller because he couldn't
stand it. He was laughing too hard. The
caller had been using the load drawer of the CD-ROM drive as a cup
holder and snapped it off the drive.
12. A woman called the Canon help desk with a problem with her printer.
The tech asked her if she was
running it under "Windows." The woman responded, "No, my desk is next
to the door. But that is a good
point. The man sitting in the cubicle next to me is under a window and
his printer is working fine."
13. Tech Support: "O.K. Bob, let's press the control and escape keys at
the same time. That brings up a task
list in the middle of the screen. Now type the letter "P" to bring up
the Program Manager."
Customer: "I don't have that."
Tech: "On your keyboard Bob".
Customer: "What do you mean?"
Tech: "P on your keyboard, Bob."
Customer: "I'm not going to do that."
Now, don't you feel better about your skill level?

Whats Wrong With This Picture???
See if you can discover what's wrong with this picture in the link below. I stared at it for almost 2 minutes before I figured it out. You have to get sort of close to the screen and check the whole thing over! It shocked me when I did finally see it. You will know it when you see it! It's amazing!

Stella Awards
A cousin to the "Darwin Awards". Unfortunately these people are still walking around today...
>> Awards"**
>>
>> The Stella's are named after 81 year-old Stella Liebeck who spilled
>> coffee on herself and successfully sued McDonald's (in NM). That case
>> inspired the Stella awards for the most frivolous, ridiculous,
>> successful lawsuits in the United States.
>>
>> Here are this year's winners:
>>
>> 5th Place (tie):
>>
>> Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas, was awarded $80,000 by a jury of
>> her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was
>> running inside a furniture store. The owners of the store were
>> understandably surprised at the verdict, considering the misbehaving
>> little toddler was Ms. Robertson's son.
>>
>> 5th Place (tie):
>>
>> 19-year-old Carl Truman of Los Angeles won $74,000 and medical
>> expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand with a Honda Accord. Mr.
>> Truman apparently didn't notice there was someone at the wheel of the
>> car when he was trying to steal his neighbor's hubcaps.
>>
>> 5th Place (tie):
>>
>> Terrence Dickson Bristol, Pennsylvania was leaving a house he had
>> just finished robbing by way of the garage. He was not able to get
>> the garage door to go up since the automatic door opener was
>> malfunctioning. He couldn't re-enter the house because the door
>> connecting the house and garage
>> locked when he pulled it shut. The family was on vacation, and Mr.
>> Dickson found himself locked in the garage for eight days. He
>> subsisted on a case of Pepsi he found, and a large bag of dry dog
>> food. He sued the homeowner's insurance claiming the situation caused
>> him undue mental anguish. The jury
>> agreed to the tune of $500,000.
>>
>> 4th Place:
>>
>> Jerry Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas, was awarded $14,500 and
>> medical expenses after being bitten on the buttocks by his next door
>> neighbor's beagle. The beagle was on a chain in its owner's fenced
>> yard. The award was less than sought because the jury felt the dog
>> might have been just a little provoked at the time by Mr. Williams
>> who had climbed over the fence into the yard and was shooting it
>> repeatedly with a pellet gun.
>>
>> 3rd Place:
>>
>> A Philadelphia restaurant was ordered to pay Amber Carson of
>> Lancaster, Pennsylvania, $113,500 after she slipped on a soft drink
>> and broke her coccyx (tailbone). The beverage was on the floor
>> because Ms. Carson had thrown it at her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier
>> during an argument.
>>
>> 2nd Place:
>>
>> Kara Walton of Claymont, Delaware, successfully sued the owner of a
>> night club in a neighboring city when she fell from the bathroom
>> window to the floor and knocked out her two front teeth. This
>> occurred while Ms. Walton was trying to sneak through the window in
>> the ladies room to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge. She was
>> awarded $12,000 and dental expenses.
>>
>> 1st Place. This year's run away winner was:
>>
>> Mrs. Merv Grazinski of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
>>
>> Mrs. Grazinski purchased a brand new 32-foot Winnebago motor home. On
>> her first trip home, (from an OU football game), having driven onto
>> the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the
>> drivers seat to go into the back & make herself a sandwich. Not
>> surprisingly, the RV left the
>> freeway, crashed and overturned.
>>
>> Mrs. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not advising her in the owner's
>> manual that she couldn't actually do this. The jury awarded her
>> $1,750,000 plus a new motor home. The company actually changed their
>> manuals on the basis of this suit, just in case there were any other
>> complete morons around.

Pilot Humor?
I have to admit I didn't find this that funny. But, I get quite a few funny forwards in my box, so maybe I'm just a hard customer. Check out the time stamp on this one. Apparently I am one of the few who didn't lol at this one cuz it has been making the rounds for quite some time!

After every flight, pilots fill out a form called a gripe sheet, which conveys to the mechanics problems encountered with the aircraft during the flight that need repair or correction. The mechanics read and correct the problem, and then respond in writing on the lower half of the form what remedial action was taken, and the pilot reviews the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews and engineers lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual logged maintenance complaints and problems as submitted by Qantas pilots and the solution recorded by maintenance engineers. By the way, Qantas is the only major airline that has never had an accident.
(P = The problem logged by the pilot.)
(S = The solution and action taken by the engineers.)
P: Left inside main tyre almost needs replacement.
S: Almost replaced left inside main tyre.
P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.

Because Everyone Has Time For Sarcasm
Seriously, do the people who forwarded this even realize they single-handedly filled up everyone's inbox in their address book?? People, if it has an image it takes up more space. So unless it is IMPORTANT (which this isn't...although this one is actually kind of funny) please keep it to yourself. --PEF

Nice to See You Too...
When someone asks, "How's it going?"
If you say.. "Awful" they will think you have a bad attitude.
If you say.. "Great" they will know you are lying.
I like to say, "Unbelievable." The most common response to this is..
"That's Great!" I just smile.
Forward this to make your friends smile!
